Signale
Kunst@Werk
user-dynamic exhibit
08/2007
I was once again invited to take part in an exhibition called 'Signale' (German for 'signals'). It was about the complex and aesthetic representation of (digital) information.
I helped with this collaboration together with Matthias Jäger, Barbara Heier and Jakob Reichsöllner. The exhibit consisted of tiny plastic bags filled with a little letter - written by Jakob Reichsöllner - and an old key put up on the wall in three rows. Every contribution was tagged with a three-digit code representing a piece of art at the exhibition. The key itself was to remember the exhibition and to take it home with.
The bags were one after another taken away, the exhibit changed throughout the exhibition caused by the visitors.

Weil das Schwarze...
Kunst@Werk
3d game design
08/2007
Matthias Jäger invited me to take part in an exhibition in Graz in August 2007. This exhibition named 'Weil das Schwarze immer gegen das Gelbe kämpft' (German for 'Because the Black is always fighting against the Yellow') was about artistically dealing with the aesthetics and philosophy of violent computer games.
My contribution consisted of a custom made 3d-world for the well known action computer game Half-Life. At the exhibition you were able to play this mini-game by yourself. The idea was to create something non-violent for a usually violent computer game.

Sprouting Wall Branches

wall design

MOUWTH wanted me to fill the space of a blank wall in their office. As there was a need for a natural design I ended up painting those branches with little sprouts.

I did this first piece of weird ambient sounds for my very own toilet room, where an old tape deck automatically starts to play, when you turn on the light... Published under the name of "Wim Helmet", the pseudonym I use for my electronic music.

Verstorben
(self)
photography
10/2007
'You can call it macabre! Is it the imagination of everyone you know dropping dead on the floor? Or a few pictures of people's feet? Or is it just 'bare foot' fetish?'
'Verstorben' (German for 'deceased') was a slightly macabre photo series done in late summer 2007, showing some people's naked feet provided with a little sign saying 'Verstorben'.
There is a movie presentation which was shown at an art exhibition in Gmunden / Austria in late 2007. It supposed to decelerate, to unsettle and also tell something about people's blunted view on death.

Prom Magazine
BULME 5EEH 06/07
print design
10/2006
In fall 2006 my former band colleagues asked me to create their graduation magazine for their 'prom'. Since I did the magazine for my own class in fall 2004 and knew everything about the whole process of organizing and realizing such a thing, I was happy to do so. This was a chance to improve my ideas and visions of a magazine for this purpose.

In 2003 a classmate asked me to do a small homepage for his electronic music project. He provided me with some of his pictures and text and I put them together, suitable for my colleagues' musical style - dark and macabre. The site was up for about a year and was finally put down in summer 2004.
